Jacob’s POV.
This was Andy’s 8th drink of beer.
“Andy stop, you’re going to get yourself killed,” I told him, grabbing his arm.
He jerked his arm away and gulped down the rest of his beer. He lifted his hand up, showing his palm to the bartender, indicating he wants another drink.
“ANDY! STOP!” I yelled.
He turned to me, gave me a glare and went back to his own little hoodlum world.
“sorry sir, we can’t serve you anymore alcohol,” he told Andy.
Andy grabbed him by his shirt. “I’M A FCUKING CUSTOMER! YOU GIVE ME DRINKS. WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!” he shouted right in the bartender’s face.
The bartender fell back and brushed himself off. He then looked at Andy and nodded his head. I turned away for a second and saw Trevor making out with some girl. My jaw dropped a little. I stared at him in disgust. Andy started slurring as he got up. I turned back to Andy, catching him when he was about to fall.
“HEY YOU BITCH!” Andy shouted.
I couldn’t see who he was yelling at. He kept on tripping on his own feet. I didn’t want him to fall face down onto the ground.
“YOU ASS HOLE! HOW COULD YOU DO THIS?! TO MY SISTER!” He stood up on his own.
He grabbed Trevor, dropping the bottle of beer, he was crying, he pushed his forehead onto Trevor’s.
“SHE TRUSTED YOU MAN! WORST OF ALL, I TRUSTED YOU! WE TRUSTED YOU! WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS?! HUH!?” he yelled and shouted at Trevor.
Trevor struggled under Andy’s grip, but Andy was stronger. Even if he was 10 times drunker than Trevor was. Andy couldn’t forget his sister, not Ashleey, not even a coma could make him forget.
“let go of me man!” Trevor yelled back.
“FUCK YOU! YOU’RE GOING TO HELL!” he yelled that out so loud, I felt the floors vibrate.
I grabbed Andy and placed both of my hands on his face, forcing him to face me.
“hey! Andy! Not here man! He's not worth it!”
Tears were rolling down his cheeks uncontrollably, he tried looking away.
“ANDY! Get yourself together!” I told him.
“but Trevor’s betraying Ashleey,” he pointed.
“Ashleey’s gone Andy.. she’s gone..”
He shook his head, “no! She’s here! She’s right beside me! She can’t be gone!” he cried even louder.
I pulled his head on my shoulder, hugging him tight.
“well, I didn’t know this was a gay bar,” chuckled Trevor.
I pulled away from Andy and pushed Trevor onto the floor. I punched him in the face, once, twice, thrice, till he starting yelling for help. I felt Andy and some guards trying to pull me off of the bastard. I continued punching him, until he was bleeding through his nose and mouth. I finally got pulled away. He stood up and looked at me in fear, I could see it in his eyes, he was scared of me. And I didn’t mind.
“I know Ashleey didn’t kill herself, and when the police finally find out who did kill her, and if they say it was you, you’re dead Trevor, I’ll kill you, I swear to god I will, I’LL KILL YOU!” I pointed my index finger at his nose. “that’s not a threat, a warning is what it is,”
They took my by the arm and led me and Andy out of the bar. Andy passed out, I pulled his arm and wrapped it around my shoulders and walked back home.
Courtney’s POV.
“Mike, I need to tell you something,”
“what is it Courtney?” he looked at me with those, grey eyes, it made me breathe even harder.
“I- i- hugged Jacob..” I still haven’t pulled away from his gaze.
“what? When?” he looked confused and sad at the same time, it was hard to tell.
“a few weeks ago, the night, Ashleey died,” tears started forming,
“but Ashleey, after the funeral, I told you to stay from him, you didn’t listen,”
“I know, I just, you know I can’t,”
“you could’ve at least tried! Courtney, did you kiss him?”
“no! I didn’t! I swear!”
“well, I specifically told you to stay away from that guy, and, you couldn’t even follow ONE simple rule, just one rule from me,”
“Mike—“
“no, Courtney, I think, I think I should go,”
“I’ll go with y—“ he cut me off.
“no, you stay here, don’t follow me, cause, I don’t want you to..”
He turned and walked away. Leaving me. I wiped my tears and ran back home. I barged into my room and I ran into the bathroom. I saw a perfectly shiny razor on top of the sink. I grabbed it, my fingers delicately lined the blades as I contemplated my decision. I had nothing anymore, no more Mike, no more Ashleey, no more Jacob. I practically betrayed Mike, betrayed him. I let the blades cut into my wrist, and got a towel to cover the gruesome sight. The blood began to show, red and unforgiving. I felt no pain, nothing. This felt better than anything Jacob or Mike has ever done to me. This is what I deserved. I felt dizzy, everything was blurry. I heard someone call out my name, but I wasn’t so sure, it sounded indecipherable. I saw the blood on the towel, it was almost seeping to the floor. I started shaking. I felt someone grab my untouched hand, holding it tight.
“Everything’s gonna be okay Courtney, just stay with me, don’t leave now, please,”
That was the last thing I heard before I faded away.
